Role Details.

We are seeking an outstanding Musical Theatre Teacher to join 2Beez Performing Arts Academy at the exclusive Derby Grammar School grounds in Littleover, Derby.

This Sunday role involves teaching Musical Theatre to students aged 3–19, inspiring young performers through singing, dance, acting, creativity, and confidence-building.

We welcome experienced teachers, Musical Theatre graduates, and equivalent qualified applicants who love working with children and want to inspire the next generation of performers.

The role is based at Derby Grammar School, Rykneld Road, Littleover, Derby, DE23 4BX, teaching Musical Theatre every Sunday from 2–5 pm.

We are looking for someone confident teaching students aged 3–19, able to adapt lesson plans for different ages, abilities, and confidence levels.

The ideal candidate will have strong Musical Theatre knowledge, ideally with a focus on singing, dance, or acting. Piano or other musical instrument skills would be a bonus.

You should love working with children, bring energy and imagination to every session, and enjoy helping students grow through performance, competition, and creative challenges.

The ideal candidate will be able to create fresh, contemporary lesson plans each week, bring suitable resources and props where needed, and work positively as part of the wider 2Beez teaching team.

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 6 months teaching experience. (apprentice options offered by the academy for a suitable candidate)
  • A degree in Musical Theatre, Music, Dance or equivalent, or close to completion
  • DBS (Fully Enhanced) The academy can support processing an application if necessary. (DBS Check fees apply, payable to the external checker)

Preferred

  • A year or longer teaching experience
  • Fully Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Able to play a musical instrument for musical theatre song accompaniment
  • Driving license
