Talent agencies represent selected talented performers, submit suitable clients for auditions and facilitate contracts and payment for completed roles. As a member of the 2BEEZ Talent Agency, you will be supported in preparing for auditions, developing your CV and Spotlight page, and we will represent you exclusively as sole representatives with your best interests at heart.
Will I need to audition to join 2BEEZ agency?
We have an audition process that enables us to select talented performers who we can represent. This ensures that we are focused on our chosen members, and casting directors are assured that our submissions are high-calibre.
How do I sign up to audition for 2BEEZ?
Members of our 2BEEZ academies who have the potential to join our ranks will be nominated by their academy principal, and auditions will be arranged on two occasions each year. Our audition process may take place remotely via video, or as part of a pre-arranged visit by Farah.
If you are not currently a member of our 2BEEZ academy, you can email talent@2BEEZ.co.uk with your CV, a photo, and/or showreel with a covering letter for consideration. Please note that we cannot reply to every email received - we will contact you if you are successfully considered for an audition.
If you have a showreel link, this would be advantageous.
Will 2BEEZ agency organise photographs?
Upon joining 2BEEZ agency, each child will need headshot photos that have been taken by a professional photographer.
Your headshots are necessary for your Spotlight page and will also be submitted for each audition. It is important that photographs are high quality and demonstrate the full range of your best characteristics.
Will I be registered to Spotlight with 2BEEZ agency?
If you do not already have a Spotlight page, you will have one created for you with Spotlight for the next registration date. 2BEEZ will manage your page with the details provided by you.
What is Spotlight?
Spotlight is recognised as the home of casting.
Spotlight is an online directory that connects performers with roles in Theatre, Television, and Film productions. Performers on Spotlight are recognised as the best in the industry, so casting professionals choose Spotlight when searching for their cast. Agents will receive notices of casting calls and submit suitable talents who meet the criteria for the roles described.
Do I need to pay to register?
at 2BEEZ Agency, there is no charge for joining.
As a member of 2BEEZ Agency, you will need to sign up for a Spotlight page so that you can be submitted to casting calls. You will also need professional headshot photographs in order for casting directors to make their initial selections. Without either of these elements, you would be isolated from the vast majority of potential roles available to you.
Is Spotlight membership necessary?
Many casting directors solely advertise on Spotlight for their casting needs. Without a Spotlight account, you will be isolated from the majority of casting opportunities available to you as you cannot be submitted for a role without an account.
On this basis, 2BEEZ Agency does require you to remain a member of Spotlight while you are represented by us so that we can effectively meet your best interests.
What commission does 2BEEZ Agency recieve?
For each professional paid job that you engage in, 2BEEZ Agency receives a commission of 20%.
This is the only fee that 2BEEZ agency receives and reflects the mutually beneficial partnership between talent and representation. We want you to succeed.
Will I be automatically registered to the Talent Agency if I attend 2BEEZ?
No, you will need to be nominated by your principal during one of the two selection periods each year, and then you will have the opportunity to audition via video-conference or a visit to your school.
How long will I remain a member of 2BEEZ Agency?
As the Spotlight membership period is for one year, we maintain a one year contract with our talent, which may be renewed while their Spotlight membership remains active.
How much notice do I get for casting calls?
This varies between 24 hours and a couple of days. We expect you to be available to go to castings at short notice so it is important to think carefully about whether you can give this level of commitment. Please note that children under school leaving age must be accompanied by an adult chaperone (usually a parent or relative) for castings and work.
When and where do I go?
Castings generally take place in London. For children and young performers we always try to get after-school slots (usually between 4-6pm) but the reality is, that if you live any distance from London, you will have to leave school early in order to get to your appointment on time. It is important to have the support of your school in this respect. For adults, the castings are usually during the day, particularly recalls where you are meeting the director. Filming could take place at a television studio in London but might be anywhere in the country or sometimes abroad.
When do I hear about the result?
Usually, we hear within a day or two (sometimes longer) if the casting director wants to recall you for a second audition. We do not generally hear anything if they do not want to see you again. We will contact you if you have been successful but not if you haven’t, unless you are down to the final few for a part.
How much time will I miss off school?
Apart from a few hours here and there for castings, it will depend on the job. A commercial is usually one or two days shooting (unless it is being filmed abroad in which case you will have travel days). A television programme or film will shoot over a period of several weeks or months but you will not usually be required every day. If a child is going to miss three or more days in any week then provision has to be made for their education whilst on set. It is quite usual for the parent to supervise work set by the school, but if the commitment is a long one, then a professional tutor will be engaged by the film/television company. Any job that will involve missing school requires written permission from your school. It is important that you talk to your head teacher about this and let them know they could be called upon to give this permission at some stage. If missing school is going to be a problem for you it would not be wise to join the agency.
How much will I be paid?
Fees paid for child performers vary hugely but are usually half the adult rate plus a chaperone fee for the parent. Performers over school leaving age are paid at the adult rate as they do not require licensing or chaperones. Commercials are one of the best-paid jobs, with a child’s basic studio fee of around £180 plus a buyout in lieu of repeats (sometimes as much as 500%). Adults can expect around £250 BSF plus repeats. Television work is paid at a much lower daily rate but there are extras such as a programme fee, repeat fees and payment for standby days (days when you are not working during the overall shoot days). Films are sometimes paid on a daily or weekly rate or an overall fee is negotiated. Theatre work is notoriously poorly paid but is immensely rewarding and good for the CV!
How it all works
At 2BEEZ we believe that hard work and reliance pays off, whilst 2BEEZ Performing Arts Academy allows students to develop performing and life skills, build confidence and self-esteem, 2BEEZ Talent will provide the support needed for some of our students who would like to break into the performing industry. In a highly competitive and sometimes even ruthless industry, a person with experience will be able to guide someone as they become on demand.
When we spot talent that we can work with, we will offer to represent you. We believe that both talent and representation should be confident in each other, so when we choose you, it is because we are confident that you have what it takes to make it in the performance industry.
New talents are sought on two occasions each year, where prospective members will be nominated by their principal to audition for Farah during a visit to your school or via video. If you are successful, you will receive a letter advising you of the next stages.
